  • A confirmation window is displayed, click on [Yes] on this window, and then [OK] on the final windows to complete the install

Step 2

Next you need to install a patch from microsoft which is available here. This enables EasyLink to work correctly with Web Folders. You only need to do this once per computer.

Step 3

You now need to logon to the EasyLink website, click here to do this, or you can use the login shortcut at the top of this page at any time. Please note that the use of EasyLink is only supported in Internet Explorer, other browsers may or may not work.

Step 4

You will presented with a login box. You will need to enter your network login details.

Login Box

Please note that you need to preceed your user name with rmnetcc3\ or the login will fail.

Welcome Screen

Once authenticated you will be presented with a welcome screen. There are links here to access your My Documents area and the Learning Resources (Shared Subject data areas). For staff once you access a Learning Reource link you are given an additional icon near the top for the relevant staff shared area.

Logout

To logout all you need to do is close ALL Internet Explorer windows. Even if you leave one unassociated window open (i.e. google) then another user can go back to Easylink as you and access your personal areas. PLEASE ensure you logout correctly.

Problems

If you keep getting warned about about problems with a security certificate, please go back and repeat Step 1.

If you keep getting a message saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", please go back and repeat Step 1.

If, instead of your own work area you keep being taken to your "My Computer" area please go back and repeat Step 2 . If that did not work you can try running this batch file that RM have provided to fix webfolder view, this fix is available here, but this only applies to Internet Explorer 6, not 7.

Vista Specific Problems

If you are using Vista and get a message when trying to open your Home Directory or the Shared Subject area asking if you would like to see the default view instead, first go back and repeat Step 2. If that did not work try logging out of the computer, logging back in again and then re-launching EasyLink.

If you are using Vista you may get an Internet Explorer Security warning message that looks like the one below when trying to open your My Documents area or the shared subject data areas. If you do it is safe to click Allow.
